چکیده

In this study, the productivity of red watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) crop in arid regions with saline water is examined relation to effects magnetic treatment irrigation water. The greenhouse experiments compared two treatments (magnetic water) and (no water). Magnetic device delta a power 14500 gausses (1.45 T) that was delivered from company professional hydraulic (CPH) used for vegetative traits on growing periods quantitative, qualitative, chemical production characteristics at maturity. leaf area number seedlings treated (MW) increased significantly by 8.7 1.4%, respectively, control seedlings. Leaf holder length also decreased. Except plant height prior branching, it demonstrated notable increase stem characteristics. enhanced yield (quantitative, chemical), resulting increases fruits produced per 11.4%, fruit weight 2%, kilogram seeds, yield, respectively 0.34, 10.34 16.5% decrease peel thickness. Additionally, revealed sugar content had 15.4% acidity electrical conductivity (EC) changed. By adding water, ripen earlier have better texture, traceability homogeneity. Key words:  Citrullus lanatus, productivity, irrigation.

Inheritance of Resistance to Powdery Mildew Race 2 in Citrullus lanatus var. lanatus

Information on the mode of inheritance of powdery mildew resistance in watermelon is important for designing a breeding strategy for the development of new cultivars. Resistance in the watermelon accession PI 270545 was investigated by generation means analysis by crossing it with susceptible PI 267677. The analyses showed involvement of two genes, a recessive resistance gene, pmr-1, and a domi...

Response of Wheat to Soil Amendments with Poor Quality Irrigation Water in Salt Affected Soil

The experiment was conducted on farmer’s field at District Lakki Marwat (NWFP) during Rabi (spring) 2007-08, in order to study the response of wheat to different soil treatments irrigated with poor quality irrigation water. The treatments including control, tillage, gypsum and sulphuric acid were applied before sowing of the wheat crop. The treatments were arranged in a randomized complete bloc...

Maize response to water, salinity and nitrogen levels: soil and plant ions accumulation

In the present study, some nutritional imbalances, specific ion toxicity and yield-ion concentration relationships in maize under water, nitrogen (N) and salinity stresses were assessed. Effect of different levels of irrigation water (I1=1.0ETc+0.25ETc as leaching, I2 =0.75I1 and I3 =0.5I1) as main plot, salinity of irrigation water (S1=0.6, S2= 2.0 and S3=4.0 dS m-1) as sub-plot and N fertiliz...

Lycopene and Citrulline Contents in Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus)

Lycopene and citrulline contents of 9 diploids (2X) and their artificially induced autotetraploids (4X) and autotriploids (3X) were determined in mature fruit. Changes in lycopene and citrulline during fruit development was studied using fruit of variety XYXA with three different ploidy levels from 15 to 40 days after pollination (DAP). Polyploids, especially triploids, had higher levels of lyc...

management of irrigation water salinity in greenhouse tomato production under calcareous sandy soil and drip irrigation

a greenhouse experiment was conducted during the growing seasons (2008/2009 and 2009/2010) to investigate the effects of water quality and soil amendments, irrigation methods and rates on tomato (solanum lycopersicon l. cv. red gold) yield and water use efficiency (wue). irrigation management treatments were fresh (0.86 ds m-1) and saline waters (3.6 ds m-1), surface and subsurface irrigation m...
